Quick and Easy Lavender Bags
You will need: Dried Lavender Scraps of fabric Pieces of fine, see-through fabrics such as organza. Gold Thread |

These gorgeous little bags could hardly be simpler and easier to make than this. They make a great stocking filler or if you're looking for items to make for a charity fete - these gorgeous little bags should be a popular choice.

Step One Start but cutting up a variety of toning fabrics into small pieces. Mix them all together in a bowl, and when you are happy with the colour mix, add in the dried lavender. This mixture will form the stuffing for your bags, and gives an attractive petal like appearance. |

|
Step Two Take two pieces of fabric, a little larger than the bag you want to make. You can make these bags with organza on both sides, or back with an opaque fabric and have organza on one side only - it's entirely up to you. Place the fabric pieces wrong side facing and draw on the shape of the bag you wish to make. I have made rectangles for simplicity's sake, but you could make the bags circular or any other shape you wish. |

Set your sewing machine to a scalloped satin stitch and, using gold thread, stitch round the shape of the bag. Leave a small gap to insert the stuffing. Fill the bag, close the gap and trim the fabric from outside the stitching, taking care not to snip your stitches. That's your lavender bag finished. Easy wasn't it?
If you wish to make these suitable for hanging, just insert a loop of ribbon just before scallop stitching the edges. Tuck the ends inside the bag and the scallop stitching will hold it in place. |
